BIA calls for Merchant and
Resident Volunteers
TORONTO, May 3, 2006 ... The Forest Hill Village Business
Improvement Area recently invited member merchants, property
owners and City of Toronto staff to attend a special meeting
titled: "Developing a Lifestyle Business Community in
Forest Hill Village." Led by acting Chair Peter McClelland,
the presentation discussed how best to move forward with retail,
parking, and streetscape projects in the Village.
The meeting held at Grace Church on the Hill and catered
by Sotto in the Village, also heard from Robert Mays of the
City of Toronto Economic Development Office who presented
his preliminary streetscape plan and Richard Talbot of Talbot
Consultants International, a consulting group that the BIA
is hoping to utilize through the City of Toronto's Commercial
Research Grant Project.
"We are developing a great infrastructure to analyze
and implement the shared vision of merchants, property owners
and residents in the Village," said Peter McClelland,
Acting Chair of the Forest Hill BIA. "What we need now
are volunteers from all groups to help us determine exactly
what that vision is."
Next on the agenda for the Village Vision Project is to recruit
volunteers and determine the best use of for commercial research
funds i.e. a parking, retail or consumer study etc.
Merchants and property owners interested in joining or giving
